There are even RF professionals out there who misunderstand RFCs, and some of those people post on youtube, lol.
Back in 1927 their mode of operation was already understood.

I agree -- they are complicated, and that's why I now try to avoid using them at all in my RF circuits. :-)
But I once did use an RFC, 10 mH I think, as the inductor in an audio-frequency LC oscillator. Set just below oscillation, it acted like a narrow audio filter.
