I had excellent detectors also with high mu triodes, but I ask if a 'low mu' behavior could be emulated by dual control pentodes, taking G3 (i.e. 2nd control grid) as 'control grid', and using G1 (i.e. 1st control grid) as mu-setting electrode...

Yes, it will act similarly to a screen controlled pentode. Easy to try...... generally quicker than speculating...........😊
I guess our tube experts are either not present, or are staying quiet... 😀
I know next to nothing about tubes, but am curious -- what is this "low mu behavior" that you are trying to achieve?
