Am i in some kind of time out 😎 ?
I can't add a new post to any of my existing threads. I can edit an existing post I have made, but I can't post a new comment.
But apparently I can make a new thread ....

The workaround published by qrp-gaijin works for me as well. Good work!

Good work - I'll give it a try as soon as I get a chance.
It seems you don't need to refresh the page.
Just write your post, and include any inline images and/or attachments. The Publish button will turn grey. Ignore that. After finishing writing the post:
Select everything with Ctrl+A.
Cut and copy everything with Ctrl+X.
Click the Cancel button, then to confirm, click the Discard button.
Click in the empty text box to write a new reply.
Paste everything with Ctrl+V.
The Publish button becomes black and enabled! Click it. 😀
Whoa. How about this. I created a post with inline images. The "Publish" button became greyed-out and unclickable. I selected all my text and copied it with Ctrl-C. I then refreshed the page, created a new reply, and pasted the copied text (including the copied image) into the new post.
The Publish button turned black and is clickable! Will this also work? Let's see...
Weird. Repeating the same steps again, I can't seem to get it to work now. I wonder what the difference is.
I noticed something funny. If you add a new reply here, initially the Publish button is greyed-out. After entering the first text character, the Publish button becomes enabled. Then if you add an image or attachment the button becomes grey and disabled again.
I had a hunch that changing the order of operations might work. Right now, I tried creating a new post. Before entering any text, I immediately added an attachment. Only after that, I added some text. The Publish button correctly turned black and was clickable!
Is it possible that this actually works???
That looks to be a reasonable conclusion on the evidence thus far, but, contra to that is Larry's assertion in a post a few below this, is that the forum has unlimited storage space.
And I have certainly been a copious user of it, maybe more than my fair share, but pictures are fun, as well as helpful. So maybe it is a bug or a glitch like the spam filter was genenrating.
Larry may not even be aware of this - I have not messaged him about it. I may try to edit the thread title to be more specific and maybe get his attention.
I have some updates to make to my active threads, but I am holding off for now while this gets sorted out. At least that gives me more time to get caught up on your regenerative superhet thread - I;m a week to ten days behind on that,

Sadly, I must now concur. I'm unable to respond to this thread if my post contains an inline image -- the Publish button becomes greyed out and never returns to its default, clickable state. Maybe we've hit some hard limit on the amount of storage space used for file uploads on the forum?
Just as a test, I'm including here a link to an image from Wikipedia. I wonder if external image links will be displayed inline, or not.

The .pdf file I tried to add was < 100 kb. That's pretty small. I've just gone back and cleared my cache, looked for problems on my end. I'm baffled.
just tried it again with a 59 kB .pdf file. Adding any attachment requires a do over as far as I can tell.
Yeah, that is pretty much what has been happening to me recently too. Maybe the forum's servers are overloaded, making image uploads unreliable? As I mentioned, making the image file size smaller before upload kind of seemed to mitigate the issue for me, as I was finally able to upload a post yesterday with images.
Apparently, I am still in some sort of bizarre twilight zone posting regime.
I was able to post a short text message to one of my threads.
But, as soon as I added a picture to my post, the publish button disabled, and no amount of waiting for the picture to upload brought it back to life. Even more odd, removing the picture did not re enable the publish button.
I have to discard the post, and start over again with new text. The same problem exists in this thread - trying to add a picture is a total post killer.

edit: nor can I edit a post to add an image. However, I can edit a post to add text as demonstrated here.
second edit: nor can i edit a post to add a simple .pdf file. It gives the same result as an image - the update button disables, the edit has to be discarded, and the process to edit started over.
The publish button is disabled.
It doesn't seem to matter if I'm trying to add images, or just text.
I've tried different browsers and my phone. I'm locked out of my threads, except this one, lol.
Strange; I haven't seen that behavior before. Are you getting an error message, or is the publish button simply disabled?
I do notice that when I copy/paste images into a new post, the upload takes a long time, and during the image upload, the publish button is disabled. Sometimes, even after the image upload completes, the publish button remains disabled, making it impossible to finally submit the post. I tried making my images smaller, to reduce the upload time, and that seems to help (maybe) with the issue, so that the images are uploaded faster, and when the upload finishes, then the publish button is again re-enabled correctly.
