Currently the originator of a post is allowed to delete that post, including all attached follow-up comments. This could be unpleasant if a long discussion occurs in the follow-up comments, but then later the post originator decides to delete the post, which will destroy everyone else's comments also.
The old TRB forum was configured to:
Allow deletion of a post, but only if no follow-up comments had been posted. This allows the post originator to remove the post completely, for example, if the post was accidentally made in the wrong forum, or simply if the poster wants to remove the post.
Prevent deletion of a post if any follow-up comments had been posted. This prevents the poster from destroying the follow-up comments and conversation by other people. It is still possible for the original poster to edit the original post and make corrections (or deletions). But the original post itself (and the attached follow-up comments) can no longer be deleted.
Is it possible to configure the Wix forum in a similar way?
Unfortunately, it looks to be a near certainty that everything on the old radioboard is now gone, save what individuals may have archived.
So there is always the risk that technical data may just go away.
